Yes, I know that. That's why the first thing that I mentioned was that I had the 2008 X5.

And I can tell that it was not trivial to install the phone (base, ejector, adapter or whatever all the parts are called) in my 2008 -- one is supposed to remove the center console in order to do that. I may even remove it all now even though I spend hundreds of dollars on parts...
