Even a clogged filter will still give some pressure indication with a good fuel pump, but a bad fuel pump will not give any pressure reading with a good filter. Hopefully you don't have a full tank of gas because it's going to be a mess when you remove the old fuel pump.

Once you have the old fuel pump out you can bench test it to see if it work. It may still work because jostling the motor around when you remove it might be enough to move it off the dead spot like on my Touring. BMW owners have been know to hit the gas tank with a rubber mallet in hope that the shock wave would move the motor off the dead spot. I would not buy a use fuel pump from a recycle yard because of the work involved in having to replace the fuel pump. You don't want to have to do it again until you put another 100,000 miles on the truck, but that just me.
