INViSiON Comfort Seat Headrest Monitors

After months of searching for the headrest monitors for comfort seats in truffle brown leather, I have finally found the solution, Invision Industries Revolution II. That's right, comfort seats in Truffle Brown can be accomplished or even other colours exclusive to comfort seats. After comparing Invision to the only competition, Audiovox in the comfort seat realm, Invision has the Audiovox beat in quality never mind that Audiovox can not do truffle brown.

Let's get to the details....the good.

Turnaround time and installation. Due to the leather, these are custom orders. From the time the order was placed at my dealership, the headrests arrived inside 1 week. The install at the dealership was smooth and quick.

Flexibity in use. My kids can watch the same video on both screens or different DVD's in each player. I can even use the video out cable on my 5G iPod and feed that to the inputs on the front of either monitor.

Screen quality. I used to have Vizualogic in my Jeep (they just happen to OEM for some big name German SUV maker as well) and I can say these screens are much butter.

Total integration look. The leather matches perfectly, why not...it's BMW leather.

Sounds qualiy from headphones. They have a nice 40mm driver in the headphones so they sound great...no static.

FM Modulation. Usually I would say this is a bad thing. Anyone who has used one for an iPod knows what I am talking about. It does work well to hear the video over the car's stereo.

On to the "to be improved" ( I can't use bad)

Control from the front. If you have young kids who can't operate a remote, it is extremely difficult to control the videos from the front. The IR from the remote is not strong enough to bounce off the roof the catch the ir sensor at the top of the monitor. A remote mounted ir sensor in the front ashtray would be great. This is where using an iPod works really well to control and feed video to the monitors.

DVD insertion. Due to the nature of the high backs on the comfort seats and the replacement headrests are much bigger then stock, it can be difficult to remove the DVD from the player if you have your seat up high. The DVD slides into the top of the headrest.

There has been great debate about the channel to purchase this product. Lawrence at Invision is second to none (maybe even Tom @ EAS) in terms of follow-up. Literally 5 minutes after placing the order with my dealer, he called me to confirm the details. Price is always a concern.....GRIND your dealer on the price...I did and got a great deal that was WAY cheaper then the BMW option. Use whatever tactic you can. You should be able to get at least 15% off MSRP.

So far after two short road trips, my kids have enjoyed them and my wife and I loved the peace and quiet. One really long road trip this summer will be the true test. My only word of advice, don't get them as a birthday present for your wife...it doesn't go over well....trust me on that!

Talking Yet Another Satified Customer!

Yes...Dry land is not a myth and neither are the comfort seats for my DVD kits. To date, since I started posting threads 21 DVD kits have been sold to the X5world community. Each customer has been completely satisfied and loves this product.

As a forum bonus to all xoutpost.com members. Every customer that has purchased a system through me has received a free set of Security Covers sent from me personally, so all of you can protect your investments. I will extend this promotion to any and all xoutpost.com members. The above pictures once again are Comfort Seats. Be sure to tell me you saw me on the forums.

Blair,
Thank you for the kind words on my customer service and turnaround time. I am very pleased you enjoy my product. As for the tweaks you recommended, I would love to see INViSiON making everything you need for your specific vehicle. We shall see what unfolds with the release of our newer versions within the next few years. As for using my product as a birthday present...well your on your own with that my friend.

Thanks again and I look forward to helping you all find a solution for your mobile video needs.

Looks great. It looks like I've gotten alot of people interested in this Invision system.

Let me look for my shoulder and give it a pat on the back...

21? That's whats up. I've give myself a few more pats on the back. I should get paid to advertise Invision. I'm like a spokesperson that doesn't get paid... I'm sad that I didn't get Free Security Covers. GRR...

Hey Lightbulb;
Please update me on what we talked about... I can't wait.

Talking Ben I love ya bro! I got your back anytime!

Ben I sent security covers with your kit...? But now that I think about it you didn't actually buy a kit BEN, I magically transformed your previous Ford F-150 REV 2 kit into a BMW REV 2 kit because the dealer you were talking to was trying to rape you for $2000 to purchase a brand new kit. I did a favor because I hate when dealers try to pull a fast one on potential customers of mine. Everyone needs to be treated equally and since you already paid for a FORD Kit what were you supposed to do with that? Sit on it? No Way. I wouldn't let any dealership get talked about in the negative...EVER! That's not like the "lightbulb" to flick the switch like that. I have photos of your kit with the security covers on your thread.
