Wood for aluminum?

Anyone out there interested in trading their aluminum interior trim for a flawless wood set. I'm getting ready to buy the aluminum kit but it hit me that just maybe someone with aluminum might prefer the wood. let me know if you are at all interested! Thanks!!

Have you looked into a brushed aluminum wrap?

Yes, I'm considering it. I did it on my 2001 X5 with terrific results.

My ZHP had aluminum trim, it really made the cabin look sportier. My E60 and E83 have old man wood grain So this same mod is on my list, twice. Post pics if you do it.

Well, I'm impatient as all heck. I just went to BMW and bought a brand new factory kit. It's on order and I should have it later on in the week. I am also planning another custom touch for the interior, in addition to the aluminum. I'll post once everything is said and done. I'm guessing over the weekend sometime.

andrewwynn will become famous soon enough
I have "peeling black" on my doors. Though I'd probably be more interested in alum. myself wood would be better than peeling black. Though I'm thinking of carbon fiber look pvc tape if I can figure out a clean termination for the edges

OK, I went in a totally different, custom direction with my interior. I custom finished my trim panels in Factory Montego Blue paint!!

I hope you did not custom finished that brand new aluminum kit that you just bought from BMW
Looks very nice. I want to throw aluminum in to my 2006 x5. But spent so much on clutch/flywheel replacement (and basically every other item that is subject to wear and on my way to the flywheel) that I am going to hold off on the trim for a little while.

No, that wasn't the aluminum I just bought, I still have that stashed away in the garage. That is my original wood pieces.

Funny enough, I valeted the X3 night before last at an upscale ocean front hotel. When the valet brought the car around yesterday morning he went off about how amazing the body color interior trim looked and that he had never seen that before. He had an older 5-Series and was wondering if they made it for his car. When I told him that I did it, he just about fell over. It was pretty funny / cool.
