Weird Xenon issue

Hi everyone,

My driver's side headlight on my 07' is being odd. It has factory xenons and the driver's side headlight went out a couple of months ago. After about a week of not working, out of nowhere it started working again! It worked fine for about two months then I noticed this morning it was out again. I drove the car this evening and it was still out. Then while driving home, it popped on and started working again! So weird!!! Does this sound like a ballast? Could it be the bulb? I figured probably a no on the bulb but, might as well ask right! Any assistance would be very appreciated!! Thanks everyone!

Could be a loose connector, my high beam did the same thing.

I pulled the main plug yesterday, cleaned it, sprayed it with contact cleaner, let it dry, plugged it back in and nothing changed. I tried wiggling the connector to see if that made a difference........it didn't.

You can take it to a good local mechanic that does free diagnosis.

Very true. I do like to try and fiddle with things and do it myself, when possible. One fellow suggested checking the bulb socket to see if it got moisture in there & got corroded. That sounds like a good suggestion too.

You could do that, but be warned. Many good local mechanics have no clue
what going with X5's. If your going to get someone to work on your ride
make sure it's a BMW specialist. Ask people on this site. In fact i believe
theres an available list. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ationwide.html

Yeah, many shops had told me I need a new light, but my main mechanic repaired it.
