BMW Portable navigation system Plus

Fits in your pocket, and designed for use both in and outside the car. The high-resolution 4.3-inch touch screen display offers 2D and 3D map views. The device is packed with features such as a USB connection and an MP3 player. It slots into a special mounting in the dashboard, which also recharges its battery.
Ask for it @ BMW dealer.

It's a Garmin system that plugs in the existing audio instalation.
It's portable and it fits well.

tons of good info on it here. The bracket can be had for $50 and it fits a standard Garmin.

If you looked at the link I just posted, you would find:

- the bracket is $65. The part # is included and you can order that online or at the dealer's parts department.
- the bracket fits and Garmin GPS. Yes, even the cheap $200 Garmins at the store.

You can do this setup very cheap...

GPS Install Kit, part #: 65900445996

According, to this article, the unit is just a Garmin 760.

Which is $235 on Amazon.

You can retrofit this yourself for $310. If you already own a Garmin, you can do it even cheaper. My old nuvi 670 and 200w fit just fine...

Just hard wire one of these behind the dash:
Amazon.com: Eforcity's Universal USB Car Charger Adapter: Electronics

If your Garmin has a USB to DC adapter already, you could just hard wire that also...
