Some intermittent PDC problems with the front sensors...
It seems about 1 in 10 times, the front PDC sensors will go off solid with nothing in front of them. I'd get out and make sure they are clean and there's no obstructions, but they are good to go. It's so intermittent that I can't discern any pattern to the failiure - it's rare, but its often when its raining the hardest, or snowing when you really need it. I'm afraid I'll bring it in and they'll just say its all fine (because it is most of the time) - plus they'll charge me that diagnostic fee too! Has anyone else here experienced this on their X3 (mine is a 2007 X3si) - any test or remedy for it? Suggestions or comments? Thanks. |

Yes, exactly the same for me - front sensor intermittent and causing a solid tone.
Dealer just changed one of the ultrasonic sensors under warranty for me - I assume there must have been a code logged as there was no hassle about it - even though it was one in the bumper skin that required special order as it's colour coded. Evidently, you should be able to hear which sensor is faulty as you can't hear it 'clicking', but I couldn't tell - perhaps I'm too old and my hearing isn't good enough any more |

You can hear which one? There's four in the front - all I can discern is whether its front or back. Hmmm, I thought my hearing was pretty good.
