(silly) new x3 owner question on lights

Why does the Yellow light stay on, when the trans lever is moved to park .. even after car is turned off? Only way to turn it off is to lock.
Isn't this a car battery drain threat?

Also, is there any way to add horn beeps and/or light flashes to the locking of the doors? The doors lock remotely but with no beep or flash .. I dont trust that its locked. Is this a setting?

No mention of these in the manual.

Finally .. I have seen hundreds of posts on this topic .. but still confused .. I have a 2004 ... is blue tooth possible?

On my X5 the transmission light always stayed on. Never flattened the battery in the four plus years I had it.

Audible (and/or visual) warnings for both lock and unlock are dealer settings requiring programming.

No idea on Bluetooth, sorry.

The transmission indicator in the X3 is one indicator of the "sleep" mode, where the computer shuts down most electronics in the vehicle to save the battery. So if you leave an interior light on or the radio on by accident, after 20min, they will be shut off. This does NOT apply to the 12V cigarette outlet. The transmission indicator will not drain the battery, nor will the flashing red light underneath the interior mirror.

No acoustical recognition of lock/unlock is possible unless you retrofit the OEM alarm system.

Bluetooth is not possible for the model year 2004 (up to/including 8/04 production). To retrofit, you need to replace the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) which is around $600-700.

Yes, only visual confirmation is possible, unless you add the OEM alarm. Visual confirmation requires recoding.

On 2004, I think you will lose BMW Assist if you want to add bluetooth capabilities?
