Ipod Aux Cable Kit
New to this site. I was planning on installing an ipod auxillary cable kit (not the whole ipod kit) on my 2004 BMW X3. The bmw kit has installation coming into the glove box. I was hoping to find out if I can install it elsewhere close to the dash so I don't need the glove box open everytime I want to listen to my songs. Is there a way to have the port on my dash? Also, if someone has instructions for the following, that would greatly help: - Changing both the drive belts on this car - Replacing the blower motor (been having some cricket sounds coming in from the center A/C vents) Thanks for your help! Your head unit may not support AUX option. 2004 is a bit early. You should check your serial number.
From here: There is no easy way to confirm the features of a BM53 radio module

Oh I have cricket sounds too. But to remove the blower the entire dash has to be removed. So a very very expensive option. I turn up the stereo. There is a video out there somewhere showing what is involved. Not nice at all.

I checked the serial number for the radio on my car and it says P1201514. Not sure if the Aux input can work with this. Any suggestions?

Aux Input
I have an 04 X3. I went to the dealership and bought the Aux cable for like $35. You pull the radio, and there is a harness connection for the Aux cable. It is really easy. I ran it down the dash and tucked it under the middle console all the way to inside the arm rest. In there, I installed a bluetooth adapter that plugs into it.

Oops. Mistake on my part. Blower is accessible from the engine bay. It is the air conditioner evaporator that is the nightmare.
