Exclamation Retro heated seats is possible

Well I have done this retro in a few bmws my last was my e38 ... Unfortunately for me as some may not know there is no info on this for an x3, with the use of an e46 guide and a wiring diagram I have everything working just In time for a 30 deg day. my car I bought with no winter pkg I have already added a heated wheel but I was still not sure what I was going to do about the seats ... I thought about adding the pads to my leather but couldn't find them with out buying new leather as the pads are now attached and cant be purchased seperately. I was lucky enough to find a matching set of terracotta seats close to me at a local auto recycler and grabbed them both for $150 unfortunately the car was involved in a fire and the drives seat had a nice burn hole in it ... Well what I did was took all the pass seat leather and put on the drivers seat base as bmw uses the same leather for each side so they interchange I was lucky enough to already have the heaters in my pass side as the occupancy mat was changed sometime in its life and was replaced new leathers and heaters .... Here half way through the seat strip

Seats in after running the wires to the center con very easy actually

Lucky for me my brothers gf just got an lci so I was able to peek her wiring where I realized that they are very different from an e46 if you see that little white red with yellow dot wire... That wire needs to have a k-bus signal I grabbed that from the back of the radio same color wire, also the other wires for the seats are in diff locations I will list the wiring in my next post

Warm bunz!!!!!
