If you are really interested in it I can go take a look at it for you next weekend, take a long video walkaround of it, and take it for a test drive. Like I said it will need some love but if it's as rare as you make it seem... it might be worth it depending on what you are able to negotiate the price to.

PM me your contact info if interested.

I appreciate the offer Crystalworks, but my attention recently has been focused on a cherry one owner, montego blue/tan manual, LCI w/ m pkg... Only 63k and asking price of 18 grand... until it was sold out from under me!!! The humanity... The white/black one in TX is offered at 15.5k with 95k miles and the obvious flaws. At least two in the past two weeks is a good sign that they are out there... The search continues!!

^ I'm glad it went to a good home and to somebody that clearly has an appreciation for it's rarity... 16,400!? Well bought to say the least... dibs if you ever decide to sell it! Awesome find and proof that they do exist... Congrats and enjoy...

thanks Tim. and by the way the window sticker and build sheet that came with the X3 says
337 sports package contains
sport suspension
18 inch wheels
sport seats
M steering wheel
aerodynamic package
shadowline trim

with that said the suspension on my 2004 actually feel stiffer. As I recall the first year BMW was criticized for the suspension being to harsh. I personally like it.

so does anyone know how this sports suspension is any different (it doesn't seem any lower)

EDIT - ok I think I found the answer according to the sales brochure for 2008

Sport Package:
1 Make the most of the fun-loving capabilities of the X3 SAV® by adding the

optional Sport Package. This adds sport suspension calibration
2 and 18" wheels with all-season

tires, enhancing the X3’s performance characteristics. Its looks become even bolder and more
purposeful with a full-body aerodynamic kit, including body-color side skirts and front and
rear bumpers; exterior shadowline trim completes the effect. Inside, front sport seats hold
you tight as you navigate turns, gripping the three-spoke leather-wrapped M Sport steering
wheel. And for an even more eye-catching look and heightened performance, optional Y Spoke
(Style 191M) 19 x 9.0 front and 19 x 9.5 rear alloy wheels with 235/45R-19 front and 255/40R-19
rear performance tires
3 are available.

1
Requires optional Nevada Leather upholstery or Premium Package.

2
Note: Sport suspension consists of stiffer springs and anti-roll bars. While these features improve the sporty handling

of the X3, they can also create a firmer ride, which may not be acceptable for all customers.
3
Due to low-profile tires, please note: wheels, tires and suspension parts are more susceptible to road hazard

and consequential damages. Performance tires not recommended for driving in ice and snow conditions.

the front/rear springs as well as the front and rear anti-sway bars are one mm larger in diameter on the 2008 M sport compared to my 2006 non-sport. ride ht .seems to be the same

Shame that the M pkg didn't include any perf upgrades but I'd say the asthetics alone make all the difference btwn a non M pkg and an example like yours... Got any more pics?

perf upgrades you mean like more horsepower ?

I really like the 19 inch wheels but the 18 are more practical.

Yup- I'm sure that they could have squeezed an extra 10-15 hp out of the motor without too much difficulty... like the ZHP pkg on the E46 3 series... Ah well... Wonder if Dinan makes a cat back system for the E83? the sun really makes that color pop by the way... Your's is the gold standard that I'm going to compare any future ones that I find to!
