2006 X5 DSC and HDC Not Working

Hello Everyone,

I have had this problem for some time now, and need some help. When I push the DSC button, the DSC light does not come on, even on the Instrument Cluster. Also if i Press the HDC button, it does not come on either.

I have scanned it with BMW Scanner, and have no codes. Everything else it working fine.

Any food for thought.

Cheers

Burnt out or missing bulbs? Does the lights come on when the key is turned to the run position, but the engine is not running?

Yes, All lights work on the Instrument Panel with key on. With the engine running, you should be able to dis activate the DSC by pushing the Button, But it doesn't, same as HDC Control Button.

Cheers,

Hi, next obvious question: does the button works?

Both of the Buttons did work; When I picked up the car 2 Years Ago. Its not my daily Driver, It spends most of the time in the Garage.

Any way to test them, Or do I have to pull out the Center Lower Panel ?

Thanks

I guess popping that strip with switches and simple multimeter or fuse probe is the best way.

Have you opened the glovebox fuse cover to find which fuses apply to ABS/DSC then checked all those fuses to see if they're still intact?

The OBC runs a self check of the of the systems each time the ignition is turned on. If there is a problem those warning lights should stay on when the engine is started.

Does the ABS system engage if you make a panic stop?

The DSC and HDC and ABS and even the steering angle sensor systems are linked. There are several components that could be the problem. I suggest having a diagnosis done. BMW DIS and GT1 diagnostics would pinpoint the core issue. I wouldn't start buying parts in hopes you hit on the problem.

The simple troubleshooting such as fuses, bulbs etc. that you can easily do for no cost have been mentioned.
