Yeah well how about driving thru NYC every day and you radio switches source every time you BLOW THE HORN. It is infuriating. I'm using a JVC NX7000 unit with the SWI-PAC module. Is this the correct setup? The shop that did the install told me my module was no good and I needed to get another one.

But with the new radio it changes the mode everytime I turn on my X unless I am hitting one of the other steering wheel controls at the time it sends its signal (about 10 seconds after I turn on the key). Not a major problem just annoying as heck..

That sounds more like a error in your steering wheel controls, like somehow your horn signal is cutting into your audio control signals.... Two seperate signals feeding out on two seperate wires so I doubt your peripheral module is bad. Did this just start?

It only started after changing over to the aftermarket stereo.
The steering wheel controls worked fine with my factory setup.

That's a tough one and unexpected.... My first thought is there was a error in the hookup because the signals are seperate...
