AUX connection on 2003 4.4i e53

hi does anybody know where the aux connection is on a x5. I have aux option showing on my screen when shuffle through mode but I can't ring the bloody connection. I have factory gps. Any help would be appreciated

Have you looked in the glove box? That was the standard installation location. The standard location is on the driver's side of the glove box.

If my memory serves me right, you'll need to connect an AUX cable to the back of the GPS/radio unit.

I think when the port is installed, the Aux shows up on the menu, so the fact it shows up on the screen must mean that there is one someplace. I could be wrong about this.

That is correct. AUX won't show up unless the cable is installed. The resistor in the AUX cable is what makes the radio module aware of its presence.

mogm321: You can pull out the nav screen (easy) and look to see where the AUX cable goes. It is connected behind the nav screen.

There is a plug on one end to connect to your factory wiring harness, and there is a 1/8" stereo female plug on the other end where you plug in your MP3 player, etc.

Go to the link above posted above and look at page 5 for the parts list. It is basically:

- the cable
- mounting plate and screws
- cable ties
