i made a video of P53 lights

video is ok. youtube compression sucks arse. hope this helps those who want to purchase these lights. I give them 7 out of 10. I might just do ccfl, later cause you cant see the halos in the day time.

I did not install my mechanic "soum" i think is his name phillipine or vietnamese guy, real cool.

any questions feel free to ask. BTW, I like the song. "office space..."

YouTube - X5headlights

do you notice less lighting with the hid's? From the video, the hid's didn't appear to be very bright, like when the car drove by.

Congrats on the new lights.! Yeh, why is there no auto level any more?

I've JUST installed the same lights last night, everything works well with no errors and codes... except somehow the headlight for the passenger side (RHD car) is always aiming downwards even after I'll re-adjusted it. The motor works as the lights go up and down after starting the engine. Any idea?

Good job. I didn't realize those came with the xenon angel eyes. I thought they were halogen angel eyes..

Thumbs up thank you X5world for all the info.

answers...

Butundo-yes there is less light from the xenon. it went from 100 to about 75. I believe its an aiming issue though, if I can adjust the beam a bit downwards it should be ok.

Mr BMW X5-Thanks

Jay X5-auto leveling comes included but for some reason it's not working.

Simon CPW- I dont know why leveling doesnt work. My guy at the shop put them in. Im not really worried bout the leveling though. I dont have any error codes.

PrimeTime- The are not CCFL Angel Eyes. They are LED, I chose the WHITE LED option over the stock yellow option. a 40 dollar difference. If I would have know they would be unvisible in the day time I would have ordered a pair of CCFL's and installed them in these lights. But, alas I am an inpatient man.

Richie Rich-Thanks

Hi hpjunkie,

I took out my headlights to check the aiming problem, and found out the latch holding the headlight's metal frame came off completely. I popped it back in and it works perfectly now.

While doing this, I accidentally popped out the latch from the motor to the headlight's metal frame as well, and had to unscrew and take out the motor to pop it back in. So may be that's what stopping your auto-leveling?!

Did you have to completely open up the headlight with an oven / heat gun in order to change to the white LEDs?
