Transmission Sport mode?

What do you gain from putting the Transmission in DS and not manually changing gears?

On my 335, DS is actually a real noticeable sportier program!

On the 4.6is it drives/shifts tons more sporty including quicker downshifts that aid in braking when coming to a stop. I actually rather the sport mode vs manual shifting while driving in such a manner.

The 4.8is is the same way. I prefer driving in Sport mode as well except in stop and go traffic. You will hold lower gear revs higher and it can get a little choppy because you are going in between gears a lot on speeding up and down with traffic.

I have a 4.4i and it does the same as weasel described. I prefer sport mode over normal a lot more.

And just think... 4.4i sport is equal to 4.6is normal. 4.6is sport is equal to

Thanks for all your input. I'll have to use it more to get the most out of the X5!
