No phone icon on my Nav screen and BT has mysteriously disappeared
As of earlier last week my iphone stopped syncing with the bluetooth, and the Nav unit has lost its telephone icon and won't let me resync manually (phone couldn't find the car's bluetooth, and I tried about every different sequence you can find posted here, including with my left shoe off and my right hand touching my nose while singing King of Pain...nothing worked). I tried syncing another bluetooth phone, and it couldn't find my car's bluetooth either.
I think it has something to do with whatever controls my nav screen or my bluetooth module has problems. I have a 2006 4.8is, and my car's bluetooth has been syncing with my iphone for several months (just got the X5 earlier this year) without a hitch. Any suggestions on what might be the problem and/or quick fixes? I would like to "reboot" my bluetooth module, but I am not sure that is a diy job. Thanks, mug3 |

My car developed the same symptoms two days ago after pairing flawlessly with my iphone for a year, and, after reading, and reading, and reading the forums here, I removed the red fuse with #10, waited around 5 minutes and put it back on( i think its the second fuse from left to right) stamped on it and VOILA! Everything is working perfectly again.
