Question widescreen says emerg.deact code wait 9:59 mins??

well i got into my 03 plate x5 with satnav and widescreen anyway i got in this morning and it wouldnt turn over , it tryed then died, so i got my jump starter pack and tryd firin it up to find the immobiliser had kicked in and the nav screen displayed 'Emerg.deact wait 9:59 mins _ _ _ _ but it doesnt count down and i have never used or activated this feature b4
So i waited 10 mins anyway then tried 0000 the hit deactivate only for the alarm to sound off, so i reset alarm and went back into my house and started reading up,I found that to reset an unknown code i had to pull battery lead off and wait 10 mins then connect and then wait a futher 10 minutes and it should start but it doesnt it wont take 0000 and it doesnt count down as i would expect it to from 10 mins it just stays there what can i do ive been on this now for 8 hrs plz any good advise is welcomed as im pulling my hair out as im stuck without it thnx guys.

this sometimes works: Turn your key in position 1, wait 1 hour w/key in.....then try to start it.

Yes, but if you try too many times, it will not let you reset it anymore. I know there is a scanner tool you can use to clear the mess....but then again, you already spent some time trying... have you called your local dealer? Sorry I can't help you more. Just please post the outcome for the rest of us! Good luck!

Thanks, so this means....if you're stuck like that, a dealer is the only help , and ...it may be a good idea to set your own 4 digit pin before this happens... oh, and if you're reseting it and it asks for the old pin then it's a catch 22
