ABS/DSC odometer?

got a question that I have not been able to answer through searching the forums. It seems that my ABS/DSC lights have been on and off for the last few 6 months and on constantly for the last 2-3 months. I figured it was due to but not guaranteed to be the ABS sensor at the front wheel. When it first started happening my left front tire would lock up then release after letting off the gas. All the orange lights would light up on the dash would but it would drive fine after the initial lock up and some pulsating from the front tire just without ABS functions. Give it a day or two and it would go out on it's own. Never was able to get it to my friends shop to try and read codes due to the sporadic nature of the symptoms. Now it's on constantly and I've been meaning to get things read but my friend has some serious health issues and can't work. One thing I just noticed was getting a front flat tire and putting the stock rims and tires on the light went out for 20 minutes...then back on again. Got me to thinking a little more. Looking at my odometer it seems that it says I have traveled about 20,000 miles in the last 10 months, far from reality..closer to 10,000 is realistic. I have not noticed my speedo being off but the odometer seems far off the mark. Since the sensors give the speedometer and odometer their info could it give correct info for speed but wrong info for miles traveled? Anyone have insight on this or am I way off mark?

bmw dealer is the best place to have codes read and problems resolved .
i had same problem and diagnosis indicated left front wheel speed sensor so replaced sensor and no faults since . have since covered 8000miles .
there are other causes of these faults so have codes read and if left sensor indicated then you can swap left and right sensors then drive until fault occurs then read codes to see which sensor indicated , if right then it is sensor , if left then you know that sensor was good so something else causing problem .
some bmw techs post on this forum so they should give better advice than i could .

Thanks amacman, I was figuring that would be the best answer but at $125 a pop to read the codes it's not gonna happen. I wouldnt trust the "techs" at my dealership anyway, took them 4 days to tell me i need 2 new airbags in the rear cause they both started leaking at the exact same time. After a $1200 estimate I went home and checked the fuse. BLOWN. changed it and it's good to go. I guess with only 1 dealership on the island they dont need to have the cream of the crop working for them. I was hoping that the real enthusiasts like weasel, killcrap and others might have some opinions
