Whistle Clear Corners?

Is the only way to have clear front turn signals is to replace the WHOLE headlight assembly?

Well, if you have a pre-facelift model with headlights manufactured before 10/2002, you will be able to bake the headlights open and remove the amber. You will not be able to do so on a facelifted model.

MINz is spot on re baking potential. I remember reading about using a dremel to carefully cut away the lens after having first opened the h/light units.
Also maybe type in 'remove amber lens' in the Search option.
Research this well before you pull the trigger. you don't want to bugger up a good set of headlights.

were can i find the date on my headlights to see if they were made before 10/2002? I have an 02 4.6is and think it might be close. If the headlights were made before 10/2002 is it tough to take out the amber?
thanks

The headlight casing dates are easily identified. Check out the following pics.
Note: their are also dates for the inside casing these can be different from the main case. Best viewed with a mirror.

I've just done this. Its easy. Just follow the DIY for removing the headlights and the DIY for baking the headlights. Once you've got them open removing the amber and either replacing with the "sport" model lenses or removing them completly is simple. The whole job took me about 2 hours and thats including the removal and refit of the headlights on the car.

Cheers,

Not really sure, but from what I've read about it there can a difference of several months between outer and inner casings. What's important is that the main casing date is pre 10 '02 so you'll be right to crack (bake) em open. I'd be very surprised if the inner casing date is beyond the 10 '02.
