UPDATE on Final Stage Resistor Unit

I just want to update that I recently replaced the FSR unit on my 2001 X5 and all the problems I was having with variable fan speed, not enough air blowing through the vents, and of course the annoying buzzing noise behind the dash are GONE… my AC unit works great now and I am great full of this inexpensive fix.
On a side note, I should mention that I ordered the FSR from Pelican Parts and I am truly satisfied with their quality of service and products. At first I accidently ordered the FSR for the rear blower unit which didn’t even realized it had one. When I contacted pelican parts, they were able to replace the part for me without penalties, even though it’s an electronic part.
So thank you Pelican Parts and PRAISE THE FSR….

Thanks for all the post related to this subject that led to replace the unit
H.

Mine has gone too...

Just coming into summer down under and my FSR has failed on me...

Good news is that the dealer is going to fix under warranty! Pretty happy with that given that the price of a OEM FSR in Australia is $306.00! (plus labour) YIKES!

Yes, did it last year. Easy DIY, bit could not have done diagnostics without this forum and its members!
