Fu.k me.. It happened again......!!!!!!!

1,5 months after the last time, 1 month after it was fixed.!!!

Im in despair.

My girlfriend picked me up, and i noticed burn oil smell in the cabin (she did'nt of course) So i popped the hood, and could see some oil spilled around the refill cap, caused by pressure...

I took the cap of, and a lot of pressure was released from the inside..

I stopped the car, wiped the cover clean from oil, took the dipstick out, and started it again. Then oil came out from the tube...

I stopped the car again, read the oil level, hardly any missing, refilled a little bit,. Waited a little while and started it again...

This time no oil where coming out from the tube, neither did it seem like any pressure was building up....

So, im going to bring it by the dealer now, and let them have a look at it....

Im pretty bommed by this right now..

Would you guys say this is a warranty issue.? From the work done about a month ago.?

I would say yes. Its hard to know for sure as we can't see all the things that were done nor are we there to look at what is actually happening. But that said, its oil rleated, its got to do with the pressure in the crank case / valve cover and the item that controls that is the Oil seperator / crank case relief valve, which is what they replaced.

If it was me, I would go back and ask them to please fix it right. Shouldn't happen again that quickly.

Normal BMW labor here in the U.S. is 24 months, stated in the paperwork from dealer. Sorry for the bad news.

All I can say is sorry I feel your pain. This should not have happened in such a short period. Hopefully the shop will fix it. For all the money you spent I would have hope that they fixed it right replacing all the hoses.

Thanks for the support guys..

I might have been a bit lucky on this one...

There is no pressure building up in the engine anymore..

And, there doesnt seem to be any oil leaking either...

I drove around a bit earlier today, and it seems fine. Since there is no pressure building up, im confident that the valve is okey. Im not 100% sure it did'nt cause a blown gasket, but the initial observation suggest it is okey.

In any case, only changing the gasket is a lot less work then doing the whole thing.

I brought it to the dealer today, and he could'nt see anything either...
I did'nt discuss any responsibillity, but i made them aware of the problem, and if the gasket is blown, i hope there wont be any issue having them replace it free of charge..

I will be paying close attention to the issue the next days, and see if there are any oil leak..

Anyone else had a near miss on the crank valve issue.?

Make sure it's not leaking oil out of the pan gasket now instead of the ones you can see up above. My separator failed and blew my valve cover gasket. I changed everything and the separator eventually failed again, but my valve cover gasket was ok. I realized it was because the pan gasket was leaking instead, and oil would rather spill out there.
