I spend about $150/month. Your question has so many variables that every answer will differ. Anyone who buys an X for gas mileage and saving money, is buying the wrong car. What I like about the X is it's huge fuel tank. I can easily get 400+ miles per tank which minimizes my trips to the gas station. Granted it costs $60-$70/tank, but I'm only filling up 1/3 the amount of times I was in our 325.

It cost me $75 dollars my first week I owned my X, IT KILLED ME, specially since my daily driver is a Geo Metro 3 Banger! LOL (1999 chevy metro).

I drive the Metro Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday,
and my X Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I swear I put $10 dollars on my Metro 2 weeks ago, and I still have gas. I put 30 dollars yesterday in my X, and 25 last week (I put like $25 to $30 when it reaches half a tank, I dont like driving the X close to empty).

So now I average about $120 on my X a month, and $15 on my Metro a Month.... DAM! So put together im averaging 28.5 miles per gallon (city driving) on both cars..

You are comparing apples to oranges. Not a fair comparison either way. 3 cyl to 6 cyl, 2300 lb to 4900lbs, ride, SAFETY, comfort....Plus, I've worked on Metros and would never drive one (personal opinion) in a heavy populated urban area. My safety and life are more important to me than the cost of gas.

$60 per tank x 5 = $300/mon.

I average about 3 tanks a month; with the ridiculous prices in the UK that is about £250 or about 400 USD!
