JL Stealth box Install created rattles

I installed the JL stealth box which sounds great but now the sub cover rattles like mad.....Any suggestions to mod this cover to get the rattles out?

Any sub will create rattles....it's a matter of isolating what rattles and try to make it not rattle...

heh. Snowed in today and playing around with my JL 212 / 113 Fanthom Sub setup. Putting felt under lamps and schitz.

Is the rattle coming from the cover or a likely culprit which is the gas fill cover

That is obnoxious! Do something like this Xoutpost.com - View Single Post - Subwoofer Project FINISHED!!! (Enclosure Dimensions Included), Xoutpost.com - View Single Post - Subwoofer Project FINISHED!!! (Enclosure Dimensions Included) or Xoutpost.com - View Single Post - Avic-Z110BT Install pics. if you can cut the plastic carefully.

Cutting the same diameter as the sub and putting a speaker cover (mesh) will definitely work and it looks clean.

Question: Does anyone know where to buy just the box w/o the sub for that setup?

I agree with the above, cut a hole on that cover and put a grille on the front, you'll be good to go...

You have to be careful about what driver to use in that enclosure. You don't have a lot of depth which is why JL put a lower end sub in there since it has less depth requirements...

Chefwong is right, most every sub install tends to create some rattles, if not at first, then definitely over time. Try to work with that shop to put some cuts into the cover and re-carpet. $500 is a bit high.

Also, that JL Fathom is a S E R I O U S piece. Enjoy it dude. Get a second one and the room will really even out. Not too mentioned you'd have a bit of bass to play with. (I work for KEF, British Loudspeaker brand of the highest caliber....I hate JL....'cause they're good!)

Enjoy the LF fellas

What did you guys do for mids to keep up with your subs? I did BSW stage 1....and it was very minor increase.

Would like to use a jl clean sweep, and a 4 or 6 channel amp and blow the BSW ones to $hit then replace with some Jl coax in the back and 6.5 mid with a seperate tweet in the front????????????

The BSW speakers are nothing more than a Rainbow speaker relabeled for BSW's use. Read from posts 11 and on - http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...-question.html. I'd get MB's all day long if it we're me.
