Found these on the door trim!

Rear passenger side:

Rear driver side. THis one's on a tough spot.

I doubt these are covered under any warranty...so that's there to do?
Sand and paint? Replace the trim pieces?

If it's not covered by warranty, consider just stripping the area, fixing the rust with rust converter (for preventative purposes, not looks), and going for the graphite look with the BMW accessory:

Yikes! I feel bad for you northern members. Our cars down here have it so much easier. Especially underneath. I have seen photos of X's from northern members of the undersides of their cars and the difference is night and day. Not to mention stuff like this.

I thought about that, but the trim they sell only covers the B and C pillars, not the window rail which is the affected part. :-(

Well, since it is a Canadian vehicle, the BMW Canada rust warranty would be the applicable document.

It was for a term of 6 years up to 2004 models, then it went to 12 years.

Trouble is that it covers perforation, not surface rust. Doubt that this would be covered.

If it is original paint, just go to the body shop and get it fixed. If it is a more recent repair, go back to the shop that did the repair.

Thanks...it wouldn't hurt to ask and hope for the best.
