Thank you to all on this thread. I just replaced my June 2005 E53 screen with LQ065T9BR51U. Fortunately, that was the part number of the one in the car, it didn't need any adjustment and was a straight swap.

The process is straightforward, with a couple of tricky areas for me: holding the screen at an angle to remove the cassette panel screw was tricky; getting one of the screen cables off the PCB was difficult. In fact the cable broke on removal - fortunately new screen means new cable!

The whole task took 45 minutes. It's a massive improvement, I didn't realise how bad the old screen had become.

Did you figure this out by chance? I also need to adjust my VCO. Viewing angle is off. DO I turn the screw to the right to make it go down? Or left to go down? My angle is too high.

I ended for not being able to adjust the viewing angle, the VCO screw in my display just rolls the image to left/right, while the H-POS just moves the image to left/right.

Anyone find a reliable supplier of the 51U? Everyone selling these seems to be pushing the 54U as suitable but from experience I know it's not, the viewing angle is wrong.
