Mine have been fine for over 2 years.

Four8, go for the LED tails. At first the reverse bar got to me but the improved look with the tails got me past that. For 210 bucks best mod I did for the price.

I would have gone with the iS exhaust too. I keep checking out craigslist in hopes of finding one.

That's funny that neither of you were fans of the reverse bar. I actually like it. Does the entire thing light up or just a small portion?

Had to shoot a couple things for Eisenmann today again, but I managed to grab a quick clip of the Eisenmann Race for Xoutpost before I headed home. Check it out:

The sound is awesome but god damn those tips are horrid and they are crooked.

Doesn't Eisenmann make quad tips?

Oh and at Josh, the reverse is just a bulb in the same spot as stock, the clear "bar" is just aesthetic.

Btw, washed the X today

Polished out the haze on the headlight lenses again. I guess this is just routine maintenance for an X5. I'll need to get the 3M stuff that is supposed to keep them from crazing and see if that works.
Also am seeing a few oil spots on the garage floor. I've done the VC gasket and the oil filter mount gasket, and at this point I'm not plugging another oil leak. Let 'er flow.

Rest assured...it's just the wide angle playing tricks on your eyes. Personally, I'm a big fan of the oval tip as it is a signature of the 4.6/4.8is, but the quad is good looking in its own right. I prefer this car to look rather stock, but have some extra oomph in the sound department when I get going.

That sounds great Mike!

Today I got some usb chargers for the front and rear outlets. Now I can charge my phone in the car. It's all about the little things.

How did the 4.8 mufflers change the tone? Louder at idle and throughout the rpm range? I'd like something close to stock but still have a bit of a cackle to it when you punch the throttle (so difficult to describe an exhaust sound haha)

I was thinking maybe a 2.25" X pipe, and I'd eventually like to delete the pre-cats with an E46 header...think that'd make some sweet music? lol

Little louder at idle, above 4k my intake and the engine drowns out the exhaust. It's most noticeable of a deeper tone below 4k and at idle, but yes it's still quiet.

Like I said if I decide I want a bit more sound I'll do an X pipe.

You could start with the Xpipe cuz it's cheap, and then do an axle back or headers for more sound.

For what it's worth headers are the best power adder, but I need the cats for emissions here in Jersey. If I didn't, I'd just do headers with my exhaust and forget about the X pipe.
