Code 1845
2002 X5 4.4i with 168000 Kilometers. ( 100000 miles ) Vehicle went into Trans Fail safe mode. Engine light came on. Pulled code and shows P1845 (Pressure Control Solenoid "E" Low) So.... What does that mean and is it something I can do myself? Where is the pressure control solenoid? Last edited by DTC9968; 05-07-2011 at 06:30 PM. Reason: Add engine size |

It is inside the transmission, attached to the valve body. You may not require a transmission overhaul, but you do require someone who is familiar with the transmission and can further diagnose the problem. There are numerous posts here about ZF tranmission overhauls; you can see the solenoids in the photos in those posts.
Edit: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...long-post.html See this thread, look at post #20, last photo. It could be a solenoid, a wiring harness problem, or a mechanical/hydraulic issue in the circuit that contains that solenoid.
