Rear driver side door will not open - Help!

My wonderful yet truly unreliable money pit of a X5 has another problem.

The rear driver side door will not open. The door handle on the outside is all jacked up (not going in all the way) so it's in the handle or the carriage but I would be able to get in the door and fix it if not for one problem. I can't get it open from the inside either because of the child lock feature being enabled.

So can someone give me a low down on what its going to take to either:

a) Use a rod or something to get it open through the window seal

b) get the door panel off from the inside with it closed

c) some other magic trick

I'm leaving to go out of town this weekend for vacation so while I'm sure it will break two window regulators, chew up the rear tires, blow three fuses, have a dead battery and the AC final stage resistor burn up again I would love to be able to get in and out of the vehicle from all doors.

Any help will be appreciated.

Brandon

I figured out how to get this issue resolved.

You have to pull up the rear seat bench cushion and take it out. It's super easy to do this.

There is a bolster panel up against the door and rear seat back. Pull straight out with it. Easy as well.

Remove the door panel as normal and then you can get the door open. You have to use a little finesse here because of the tight space but it's doable.
