Arrow Can you swap 4.4i's cluster with a 4.6 / 4.8?

Does anyone have the experience of doing this swap?

Is it possible to swap out the dash cluster of the 4.4 with the sport version that is found in the 4.6 or 4.8s?

I'm mainly after the engine temp light that lights up around the RPM gauge.

Thanks!

yes. but grab the 4.6 version as it will work perfect with your 2003 x5.

Thanks for the info! I take it that it's pretty much plug and play?

Have you done this as well?

It required re-coding by dealer or shop with GT1 computer.

So let me get this straight, you want to go through all that trouble just to get some lights on the tach?

I did this on my E39 with the M5 cluster. Looks great but if you go for a used one, be ready to explain to any future buyer why you have the "tamper" light on :$
