Anyone had any experience with Continental ExtremeContact DWS?

Looking at changing tire brand after years of running the Michelin Diamaris. They wear way to fast for me, plus do not have enough traction in the snow. Not to mention they are very expensive. If anyone has had any experience with the continental extremecontact DWS I would love to hear them, positive or negative. The tread wear seems to be much better as well.

In the winter I will be driving in snow roughly 10-15 times a year.

Thank you guys!

I used the Extreme Contact DWS on my 330i. Not as good winter traction as some others, but you can get by. For some reason I had better traction with Dunlop SPs, but the ride quality was bad.

The tread life, even wear and overall ride quality on the DWS are excellent. They are also dead quiet, assuming your suspension geometry is set properly and no worn parts. I think they'd be good on a AWD car, but I wouldnt use them again on a RWD. But I'm in MN dealing with frozen roads more than 10-15 times a year.

Have them, love them. Haven't tried it in snow yet, because no snow, but otherwise I love them.

The safest thing to do is take the dubs off for winter. But some takeoff 17's off eBay. None of the 19 or 20" tires are any good in snow. Don't wreck your X5 or even worse, get stuck and have to get pulled out by a Tahoe just so your x looks good.

Thanks for all the responses guys! I'm in southern California so when I encounter snow its not anything to crazy. I think I am going to give them a try. I'll report back when they have some miles on em!

Thanks again!

Those are ExtremeContact DWs (max dry performance). The OP is looking for input on the ExtremeContact DSWs (high performance All-season).

I need replacement tires also however DWS appears to be on backorder in the front fitment of 275/40R20. The rears 315/35/R20 appear to be available. Can't find the fronts anywhere.

I have them on my 4.8is. Quiet, soft, wide shoulders. Not summer tires, remember.

I wish I could put more miles on them. 4.8is is in service again, like yours, again!

I'm getting the "thing" done through warranty (if you remember).
