Wheel housing lid
Called the body shop. The owner said... old x5 doesn't have lid on wheel housing. Is it true? Can't even find the part number on the realoem.com. What is part # of this plastic lid? #8 on the below picture |

On my 2002 4.4i, there's no lid. Actually that hole leads to a plastic duct. I figured it was designed to bring air to the brakes, but that's only a guess.

I noticed the same thing on my '01 3.0; air duct for brake cooling. My '88 e32 has it also.
