Can't get my X5 running after accidently hooking the battery up backwards

Are there any other fuse boxes I can check on my X5 aside from the one above my sub box in the back corner? THanks

Above the glovebox are more fuses. Just google "x5 fuse box".

I replaced 7 fuses and I think everything works now but I still can't get it started. Is there a fuel pump reset anywhere that may have gotten tripped??

How can you do this when the +/- terminals and connectors are different sizes?

Holy shit. Ummm, you now need to keep digging. Those cannot be the only fuses you blew. There must be a main fuse somewhere as well.

Also, how are you finding the blown fuses? Are you pulling each and every one out? You must pull them out one at a time.

Also, check that you didn't blow the fuse that is on the positive terminal. I am not sure if you have one, but my 4.8 has a fuse block right on the cable.

I think i heard a Homer Simpson.... D'oh!

I think you have relays in and around your ECU that deal with your starter solenoid. Check those and if you hear a clicking sound when turning the ignition on to start.

Not trying to insult, trying to understand how. Did the OP put a quick disconnect in the cables that can be plugged in backwards?

The guy that bought my Lexus, couldn't register it for a while, so he put it in a garage for about 4 months. He had other cars that he needed to get rid of before. So he calls me after a while and tells me that he tried to boost it, and connected the wires backwards. Same thing. He blew a total of 37 fuses. The main fuse on the fuse block, (which is a bastard one to change) cost over $150. Fried 4 relays. Fried the cap on the amp, which also had an inline fuse, and a fuse on it. Fried the power fuse to the amp, and the fuse on the amp itself. Absolutely epic fail. After all the fuses were replaced, he was back in operation. Took him a week to get them all though.

I feel your pain GoFastGuy, I was helping him find them all. Was not fun. He was in a rush in the dark and didn't realize his mistake till the + jumper touched the - terminal.

If I have time tonight, I'll look in the bentley where the other fuses are, if there are any more.
