An update on my newly bought sexy friend.

So she has been running like a top. Put a whole 21 miles on her today. Fiddled around with her and started screwing around with things. Noticed some things that needed to be done now and some things that can wait.

So I ordered Dr. Colorchip with extra cleaning fluid and wiping cloths, so those should be in by early next week.

I noticed the Lic plate bulb cover was missing on the one side, so bought one of those.

Ordered a set a Black BMW A/W mats for her so I can keep her carpet nice.

and a few other things. Grand total: $532.86 Oi!!!

While driving her, I noticed a hum. The fronts have Diamaris on them and they just suck. I thought they were shot but they still have 6/32nds left on them and they are already noisy. I found out the Dealership had put another set of 315's in the trunk. I didn't notice it because the cargo cover was over them. So now I have a brand new set of Bridgestone for the rears in the back. So I rolled them out and just stuck em in the shed. If anyone is interested in them let me know.

Then I started screwin around with the BT. Ummm, I don't think I have it??? The book came with the pass code and BT s/n and when looking in the trunk, it looks like the BT module, but could just be BMW assist. So tomorrow, I am going to remove the plastic shield and look at the TCU and see if it has a BT symbol on it. If it does, then I may be in luck, if not, then I'll have to figure something out. I mean the center console doesnt have the pairing button, but after doing a search, some people were successful without that button.

Also filled my order at DD for some Adams APC, Glass Cleaner, etc. Tomorrow I am going to replace the wiper blades because the ones I got are shot.

I also noted some rust in some unusual places. And whenever I see that, I get worried. Such as, the pressure struts for the upper tailgate, the top of the struts have rust. Also when I opened up that black flap on the lower tailgate, I saw some bubbling and rust by the seam section. SO I guess I am going to sand that out and just get some black paint and paint it up so the rust stops forming.

But I must say, I love getting all the attention when on the road. I went to go get some eggs and milk tonight at the local A&P by the house. As I walked out, cute blond was walking next to me. I hit the unlock and she looked to me and said "I like it!" I said thanks. As I started her up and took off, the note from the exhaust must have made her get excited because I saw the Biggest smile on her face.

Oh how I love it!!!

Dude, press menu button on the navi. Do you see telephone? We don't have a pairing button.

The howl, is it specific RPM, or speed. My Stock tires sounded like a tank coming down. It was night and day when I put on the contis.

The rust is a bummer, but just attack it and make it stop.

What did you buy from DD. Share the knowledge.

And yes the sounds our Xs make are like music. Makes everyone take a second look.

Yeah, when I press "Menu", "Telephone" is available.

The howl is speed specific. Its road noise from those POS Michy's

Yea the rust is a bummer but hey it is minimal.

And oh yeah!!!! I love that sound!!!

I plan on deleting the front plate and a few other odds and ends today.

So at DD I got the Adams APC which is good to clean everywhere. Enginebay, wheels wells, etc.

Got a new Bottle of Z1 Anti-Insekt. Which doesn't make sense because it removes the bug and tar from the paint, but doesn't prevent it. But I guess that is the German way.

Picked up a new Clay bar and clay/paint lubricant

And some Pre-Wow trim cleaner.

There was a thread on here about someone using the 3m trim dressing and had good results. So I am going to clean it with the Pre wow and then hit it with 3M.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
I'll give you the run down my friend, if Phil didn't process your order yet you may want to change it.

For tires, and any rubber or plastic trim, all you need is Adams APC and Adams super VRT. Dries matte, is waterproof (actually beads water), and has SUNBLOCK in it.

All i do is wipe down my black trim and tires first with APC to clean them well, and then apply some super VRT, works amazingly.

And the best part? If you treat your trim before polishing/waxing, it doesnt stain your trim white! all you do if you get some on is wipe it off.

And for bug and tar stuff, Phil sells Stoner "Tarminator" which i've been using and it really takes care of sap. My girl just parked under a tree I just spray on and rub in lightly and it dissolves sap in seconds.

Ok so you have BT.

Go to your trunk and pull the fuse for telephone/Bluetooth. I think it's called Bluetooth.

I waited a min, insert it back.

Go into car, key in ignition, pos 2 just to be safe. Take your phone and look for BT devices. You should see BMWXXXXX. Press that and enter 4digit pin. When red light turns off on the nav, next to eject button, you are connected.
