Its literally like running campfire fuel through your engine if i am not mistaken.

Saw a thread years back that said its basically naptha, as far as i remember.

I just clean deposits with carb cleaner if i were to take the throttle body off or the disa valve, being careful not to overdo it to mess up the electronics. I used carb cleaner to clean a throttle body on my mk4 VW about 6 years ago with great results but I stress that you should remove the piece you are cleaning first so as not to get stray cleaner inside the engine.

I usually run a tank of techron or equivalent fuel system cleaner once a year as well, helps to keep deposits down. Other than that, change the oil with good oil, and use good gas.

CRC throttle body and Maf cleaner is very quick dry. I believe its 3min max and whole thing is dry. i just sprayed a little bit and the fluid leaks back out.

Agree on not using Seafoam, MD referenced two threads with a few of my previous posts on it. Last vehicle I used it or anything like it on was an early fifties Chev straight six, from memory. Possibly also an early sixties Dodge slant six that had been parked for a long time.

OP, don't confuse high octane/AKI with high quality fuel. They are two different things. There are high octane fuels that are low quality with insufficent detergents, and vice versa. Use a name brand fuel, 92 AKI if that is what you prefer. In your case I suggest adding a bottle (one, not more) of Chevron Techron to the fuel tank. It is a relatively safe fuel additive. Adding it isn't as good as using a better quality fuel up front, but given where you are now, it is a reasonable next step.

I used it on my X5 in hopes of getting better mpg.
To tell you the truth it didn't do a thing and if it did I didn't notice.
If you are gonna do it then I recommend doing it at night as you
are gonna be blowing a lot of smoke from your exhaust for a long time.
Plan on getting on the highway for a few miles.
Heck the next day in the morning I was still blowing some smoke at
start up lol.
BTW I used the entire bottle.

I used it at 115k gave me quicker response once all the smoke cleared.
Felt like a new car for a few months. I suspect it's crappy gas that's fouling things up.
I am now strictly Sunoco 93 now no costco gas anymore.
