'05 sport steering wheel airbag compatability

Hi all. I have a 04/05 build date of my X5 and I just got a free sport heated steering wheel (08/05 build date) from my mech after he did my blower motor replacement job. He said I just need to grab an airbag for this and its ready...
the question is, as I look up in realoem for the part #, its shows 2 part numbers for the airbag. one up to 09/05 (ONLY found on e53) and one till end of production of the e53 (found in e53 AND e83).
can I ask what the difference is between these two airbags?

Everywhere on the net, it shows that the e46, e39 and e53 have "same" airbag, but not according to realoem. But I just realized it cause the e46 and e53 both shared a same steering wheel for a the first few years...

I'm finding a hard time trying to track down a face lifted sport steering wheel airbag believe it or not.

Early sport wheels had a round airbag. I am not sure when that changed but later airbags are oval. What year is the sport wheel?. Does it have a split fork on the bottom?

If you toss up the part numbers we could take a gander

Sport heated should be the wheel found on the 4.8.

Sorry guys, I forgot there were two styles of sport wheel. it IS the second pic Ukrcan is showing. iNot sure if it's from a 2005 or 2006 MY 4.8iS.
I only know the prod date of the wheel.

Thanks Ukrcan for posting both.

32303447095 fits both the e53 and e83 (from 09/05 till end of e53 production)

32306780661 fits ONLY the e53 (fits up to 09/05 production year)

but if the steering wheel is the same, why would the airbag be different now?

OK so Calgary BMW is telling me if my car was manufactured on 04/05, then I need the airbag part number IS 32306780661 BUT the sport steering wheel I just got was not manufactured till 08/05, so that means the X5 4.8 it was in was a 2006 model (perhaps build date after 09/05), WHICH happens to be the cut off date for when they switched airbag part numbers and now COULD be 32303447095

BUT my question is, since both these parts look the same, would the difference in part numbers mean both could potentially fit (as they look the same) BUT run off of different software?
Does that make sense to anyone?
