Need help locating best angel eyes DIY
Where can I find detailed instructions on how best to install and provide power to the angel eyes? Would like to have some pictures but not necessary. As to operation, I keep my light switch on automatic so I would like them on then. If they can also come on with the fog lights I think I would like to do that also. Also any input or recommendations so I do it right the first time.

There should be a DIY for wiring them up in the x5 tips and tricks on the top of the forums. If you want them on automatic I would just tap the trigger wire into the headlight power, that way they will come on when the headlights are on.
If you want them on with fogs you could hook the other trigger wire (they always give two triggers in the angel eyes kit) into the fog lights power wire on the harness (non brown wire). Does that help Bryan?

+1 What Ricky Said....
I have installed many sets and I always wire them for remote control operation via keyfob by using the secondary trigger wire on the provided automotive relay. The fade in and out looks pretty mean when walking up to the X in a dark parking lot. I wrote a DIY for the E38 Platform on E38.org Here is one I found for the E53 http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...e-kit-tip.html You will most likely be working with a standard 12V automotive relay harness like this. ![]() Wiring for your harness will go like this. 1. Connect power wire to the jumpstart point shown below (Dremel out a groove for the wire to seat in when the plastic cap on the jump point is closed) ![]() 2. Connect the black ground wire to a solid paint free bolt (Like one of the ^^shock bolts in the pic above. 3. Run the red primary trigger wire to a 12V+ in key pos. 2 wire in the headlight harness.... (I'll find a pic of the harness and post the wire shortly for ya) (now ae's a active when ur on the road with or without fogs or lowbeams on) 4. Connect the Brown secondary trigger wire(For Remote Control Function) to the interior light 12V+ wire in the harness in the drivers side kick panel loom denoted the the writeup I linked above. I like to run HID fogs and AE's only most times in my cars and this wiring make's it work without having to have the lowbeam HID's burn and gives me the keyfob remote control functionality. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help.
Did some more searching and finally used the right words to find the rest of what I need. Had gone through the tips and didn't find anything that helpful. Set to go.

Your interior lights always come on when unlocking your car. The LKM (Light Check Module) receives the wake up signal through the Ibus when the ZKE receives the keyfob's signal to lock or unlock the SAV.

Did I understand you correctly? If i held down the interior button for 3-5 seconds it will stay off whether i lock, unlock, open or close the doors and will only start coming on again if I switch the lights on. This is true for my X5, E39 and E46

I have one headlight opened. My wife said since she knows how well I bake I can take over the cooking.
Do I reheat the headlight to seal it back up or scrape the old sealant off and redo it?
