interesting, indeed!!! nice find Artem...

Several items identified -

Hydrogen set up - I would love to learn more about this, and how he gets 20-30MPG from 4.8iS

his sideview cameras - they are clearly in the front wheelwells, pointing rearward... interesting, i will explore this setup for my cameras

his shifter knob - i think this one is from E39 - is it from the 2003 540iSport? or, it is from the sequential manual/auto box from E46 M3? not sure how shifting pattern works on RHD "iS", and if the knob pattern matched the car pattern - i know that the "is" pattern is opposite to regular auto tranny pattern on 3.0/4.4 E53...

he lost his ashtray, no biggy deal, and shifted things down... he is using a 3D Navigator mouse for his CarPC controls and totally foregone the CIS-IBUS for display of the PC info on factory screen, as he has a bigger, better resolution screen now...

and the hydrogen... can somebody chime in on the hydrogen...

The channel swapping on the cameras is pretty genius. it is assigned obviously to his indicator handle. This is something I might consider. The issue it presents for me is that I want to go the android tablet non-DIN path. The screen is inexpensive in his setup. It costs about 55-75 dollars depending on channel count etc. Though I believe he has run it through a CCTV style DVR and that is how he has the diversity for computer input as well (kind of like a KVM, mapped to the indicator position for Ch1, Ch2, and toggle to Ch3.).

His HHO install is cleannnnnnnnn.

He also has DVDs in his rear seats.. Wow. I wonder if he has an upgraded alternator? The mAh draw is getting high in my mind.

Here is a web page I found with HHO equipment. Hydrogen Generator,Hydrogen Generators,Hydrogen Generators for Sale

though the design is from the dark ages.

I built a similar setup in my old mercedes GL. Its not easy and you need alot of resources at your disposal. Edit: oh its an HHO setup, thats not as bad, still is quite a bit of work involved.

Can't see the video, so just guessing.

First question: hydrogen, or HHO?

The former can power a vehicle, but not economically since it takes more energy to produce the hydrogen than you can get back out if it. It will be worthwhile when we have Mr Fusion reactors to make cheap and clean electricity, though. Hydrogen is better thought of as an energy storage system than as a fuel, IMO.

If the latter, then it is an injection system for HHO that is claimed to increase mileage. Same problem as above, it takes more energy to create the gas than it provides as a fuel, so it is in the same club as the turbinator, magnets on your fuel line to align the electrons, and the miracle 100 mpg carb that was suppressed by Big Oil, apparently. All urban myths.

i will read about the "snake venom" H2O/HHO setup, to see if is worth the bandwidth it is taking on the net... (years ago i was offered real snake venom from VIPERA LEBETINA, from Minor Asian republic-stan - 1 gram was more expensive than diamonds!!!)

Artem, not to hi-jack your own post - but did you resolve the high beam on together with bi-xenons? and the on board clock sync'ing with the GPS satellites? I don't remember which thread you were asking about those coding lines but I remember, you were checking them out...

I thought the little bubble maker in the expansion tank was funny. Looks like an aerator for a home aquarium.

There are lots of claims for HHO, Brown's Gas, whatever you want to call it. You can disprove it with energy balance calculations, but some fans claim that the ability to run at 20:1 air fuel ratios or so means you can get more energy out than the incremental HHO fuel contains, by unlocking the hidden potential in the gasoline. Hmmm.

Another claim is that you can use the alternator to produce free HHO through electrolysis. Apparently that is free energy (doesn't put a load on the engine) because the alternator has lots of capacity that isn't being used. Double Hmmm.

I like the one where the vehicle using HHO runs cooler. Apparently HHO generators make cooling system thermostats disappear.

One claim is that HHO injection makes your gasoline have 140 octane. And since we all know that high octane fuel like that produces 40% more power in an unmodified engine, it is obvious why magic happens. Triple Hmmm.

Meh. Needs a bigger screen. He should have just mounted a 40+ inch flat panel on top of the dash, and then used some forward-facing cameras so he could use picture-in-picture or split screen to see what's ahead of him when he's driving. Maybe one of those new curved LED TVs.

Nope!.... i kinda ended up just giving up on it lately. When i have extra time i may sit down and play around some more.
I did it on my boss's 3.0 2005. And it showed up and worked. (fl_bix) he doesnt have nav.

back to hydrogen, so he still uses regualar gas? just hydrogen gets injected mixed in with the gas?
