Installed reman a/c compressor. Fuse 48 blown

Ok so yesterday I had a remanufactured a/c compressor installed. Mechanic said all is good, pressure etc... As I was driving home I noticed it's just not as cold as before. Couple hrs later after getting home I headed out run errands and right away it was blowing hot air and a few seconds later the whole a/c heater controllers shut down. Checked for blown fuse and found #48 was bad. Replaced it and soon after it would burn up. Tried using 10amp fuse 15 and 20 with same results.
Never had this issue until I purchase the reman compressor.
Is there any other possible issues that someone can advise. Please help it is getting really hot in Arizona.

I'd call the mechanic and have him look at it. I assume he stands by his work, right?

You have a short somewhere. Try disconnecting the compressor and see if the fuse still blow. Not a very good idea to be replacing a blown fuse with a higher amperage fuse.

thanks guys. Taking it back to the shop thursday for a full diagnostic. Like i mentioned b4, i'm new to this a/c issue. Never encountered this prior to the compressor install. I've also read that the coil within the compressor could be send out more amperage than it should causing the short/blown fuse, or something to that effect.
It could very well be a defective a/c compressor. You know that saying, " you get what you pay for". FML

Only electrical item on the compressor is the electric clutch. If the compressor is good a new or rebuilt clutch can be installed.

Did you isolate the short? Find the short before throwing parts at it.

To replace the clutch requires a special puller. A good mechanic may be able to replace the clutch with the compressor still in the car, otherwise you'll need to evacuate the refrigerant from the system, remove the compressor, replace the clutch, re-install the compressor, evacuate the ac system and re-install the correct amount of refrigerant. Check for leaks.

Your remanufactured compressor should have a new/rebuilt clutch. You should not pay more for a defective part.

No isolation yet. Going back thurs/fri to have full diagnostic. Hope then we find the culprit.
There are no leaks per mechanic. He said all pressure are fine. This sounds like a mechanic job that i most deff cannot do. lol
