Nope, without the OBC, I can't access that feature to activate the post fan operation. I can for heat with the Max AC button, but only when temp is below 15 deg C (59 deg F).

Off chance anyone know if I could toss in a radio with the OBC and it will just work? I have a row of pixels missing so a good excuse as any to find one at the wreckers.

Cheers.

For those with the MID you have to select the timer functions (press the clock face button on the lower right side of MID)...and you'll see VENT ON & 1 TIMER 2 :
FYI: the VENT ON as well as the Nav's AUX VENT (direct mode) can only be accessed when the ignition is in KL R (ignition position 1)

-Update -

Looks like JG was right - I left the X5 running with the A/C on for about 20 minutes, came back, no water under the car, but the rear-right passenger footwell had a big puddle. Maybe it was a combination of things - the a/c, the door barrier and the clogged sunroof drains (cleaned by BMW during my last visit)...

Besides trying to unclog the a/c drains from under the car next to the transmission, do I have to do anything else, like under/next the center console inside?

There was a LOT of water in the system I vaccumed out. You may want to yank the center console and let everything dry out. You can drive the entire car without the console. Good opportunity to vinyl wrap your wood trim. If your rich, you could preventively replace the FSR both in the front and rear.

PS, I seem to have only been able to get the drivers side tube unclogged, I'm getting nothing from the passenger tube. I think it's longer and makes an extra turn, so I've been unsuccessful in clearing it from the ground. I'll put the car up this weekend do I can really get at it. The good news is that I haven't had any water in the car with just the one tube unclogged, but I'd rather not find out the hard way.

The carpet backing acts as a super sponge. Unless you take it up, to dry out the excess water, your car will soon begin to smell moldy. The process is not too difficult. I took out the front seat to raise the carpet . 4 Bolts holding the front seat .

Another note....

I pulled the pane in the interior- Passenger side (where the FSR) console to see if I could find where the drain exited the condenser...its right there, but when I squeezed the hose as it exited the condenser, there was something 'IN' the hose. sort of felt like a check valve or something, but hard. the tube was cold above this obstruction, but warm below it(obviously not draining). Now I'm intrigued, and if I could figure out how to disconnect that tube from the condenser (very little room to work) without yanking the dash, I would be very curious to know what that is.

Update - Seems to be fixed

So, we took the car to BMW in Boston and told them the A/C was flooding the rear footwell and that no water was dripping from under the car. They said they checked it out and it was fine - we insisted, they said there's no issue and that upon a third inspection, they purportedly found that water was coming from the door vapor barrier (which I had patched up). They didn't charge us a dime for the visit (happy about that ofc) and told us to bring the car the following day so they can replace the vapor barrier charging me parts only ($70ish), because this would be my third visit for the same issue.

Funny thing is that, when we took the car back home with the A/C on, there was no water leaking inside and when we parked, miraculously, the drains worked for the first time this summer... Fine with me.

I took it the next day, they dried out the carpet and replaced the vapor barrier.
