How I got GT1/DIS, SSA, INPA and a cable all for $20.
Second of all, the programs - it is not my work or instructions, I am just sharing what I found. I bought this cable from China, took a couple of weeks to get: (thats the $20. I spent) BMW INPA K CAN Interface USB OBD2 for BMW INPA Ediabas Auto Diagnostic Tool | eBay I had to open it up and solder a jumper between pin 7 and 8. Something about E53 needs these pins jumped, others model cars may not. It still read general error codes on INPA without the jumper but would not read the modules. I downloaded a LOT of different programs but could never get more then INPA working. I found this torrent that has DIS, SSS and an older vision of INPA and GREAT instructions, including the virtual machine program and an extracting program, everything you need to get it working. Do a torrent search for "BMW MEGA - V39 - DIS GT1 SSS CIP TIS.rar.torrent" It is a 5gig download and took my DSL connection about 16 hours. It says it includes TIS, but it does not. It extracts to 2 DVD's The instructions are on disk 1, in a folder "installation procedures" NOTE: The instructions say to install "EDIABAS from your hard drive - it will error, install it directly from the CD you burned. ALSO when you look for "free Diagnostic Head", mine was blank but it still worked. I used an old laptop that had Windows XP, there are instructions to install on Windows 7, Vista and XP. I opened the instruction PDF on my MAC and followed the very detailed and illustrated instructions while installing on the laptop. It look several hours. You have to install a "virtual machine", not real sure what that is but when I have tried with any other setups I could never get it to work. The instructions and programs on the CD that comes with the cable from China is crap. I now can program the key and memory features, read and reset the error codes and gained a new respect for my "Ultimate Driving Machine" Good luck!
