I appreciate the positive comments guys... Chris, thanks for the steering wheel tip!

I finished the LED headlight install on Friday (except for coding). FRM3 Module reconnected and the car has been put back together except for the bumpers and sideskirts, which are being refinished.

So far this is what is happening;
The left side halo rings, low and high beams work, but no turn signals or amber running lights.
The right side halo rings, low beams, turn signals and running lights work, but no high beams.
I also noticed that my window buttons on the driver's door are now reversed (left switches control right side windows and vise-versa)?

I'm wondering what else has changed with the new FRM3 module that will have to be corrected?

You did the correct wiring for your M, right? There are two scenarios in the retrofit instructions - with adaptive lights and without. I believe all US spec cars HAVE option code SA524.

Chris

Nice car and tasteful mods. How is the rear camber after the X was lowered?
The FRM has to be coded correctly, nothing else. I didnt find you mention which tools you are using. If use ISTA it will get coded according to the car's original "Vehicle order", where this type of light dont exist. Also ISTA may not accept it at all because FRM3 may have never been installed in this model/range of VIN. Most probably you will need custom coding of the FRM to make it work correctly.

Hmmm... now that makes more sense. I had the understanding that option SA524 was for adaptive headlights, which is what my vehicle was originally optioned with... so I wired the harness as if it had SA524.

So mine should be wired without SA524?

I know the rear has a bit more camber, but it doesn't appear much different than stock. I still need to dial everything in.

I believe my shop will be using Autologic to code the new FRM3. If I need custom coding, can this be done remotely?
...and do you know of a person/shop who can accomplish this for me?

Thanks for your help guys!

A "bit" would be close to 3 degrees, but you should be able to dial it back in spec. With performance, low profile tires, the wear rate of the inner shoulder will be terrible, but it looks unique
I am pretty sure Autologic will not do the job as they use the factory parts catalogs for a guidelines. If FRM3 is not listed for this VIN it will reject the job or will code it to spec, according to the VO, which doesnt work for you. At least if it does the job it will put you in the ballpark. Remote coding is possible, I believe there are a few guys here that are good with NCS expert.

The FRM I removed was also FRM3, but an earlier version... I'm wondering if it could have been coded to accept the LED headlights?

I just went back and read the retrofit LED headlight instructions once again to be sure: SA 524 is Adaptive Direction Headlights (not fog lights), so mine does have SA 524.

Having gone through an FRM replacement which resulted in reversed power window operation, I'll tell you that it ultimately required a special coding session with BMW-NA at the helm to remedy it. They had my X5 hooked up to a special dedicated laptop and the session apparently required a lot of bandwith. The dealer's IT guy was freaking out. No one could explain why this was level of programming was required but the normal coding that they can do at the dealer was not sufficient to fix this issue.
