E70 X5 front brake kit recommendation

Hello all,

Just got a call from the dealer that they received a message from my X5 that my front brakes are due for replacement!!! Strange as they never called me on anything while it was under warranty... I was lucky enough to get the rear brakes replaced under warranty but seems that my Yosemite trip really did a number on the fronts. Is there a brake kit you guys would recommend? I did my old X5's brakes from a kit purchased from OEMbimmerparts or Bavarian... not sure and it was about $250 per axle with rotors and everything.

As always, appreciate the follow-ups to my questions.

Lev

No kit per se..I did my rears a few months ago.

I did Zimmerman rotors, (OEM for BMW AFAIK) $160

Did akebono euro pads $65

Both Amazon w free prime

OEM brake pad sensor from my BMW dealer. Prolly paid $6 too much.

These 'kits' from various vendors seem to be a bit of a waste of money. I mean these prices I posted are pretty damn low- the 'kits' have to either be more expensive than an a la carte purchase, or you are getting a lower price aftermarket (with a name you wouldnt know) but in a package from a popular vendor that has a nice on-line presence and folks recognize and trust. Hey, I dont fault them, it is a good biz model: "people are confused with all the names and parts, we make it simple"

7mm allen... that's what you need to loosen the bolts holding the caliper and rotor
