E70 3.0SI Serpentine Belt removal Help!

been trying to figure this out since yesterday.. X5 08 3.0

how would i replace my serpentine belt if the AC belt is in the way? i removed the black bar on top of the fan and now i have access to the tensioner but i cannot remove it as the ac belt is on the way?

do i have to remove the fan too? or jack the car and access underneath?

been looking at it and i dont see any tensioner on the compressor side so i cant remove or put the new belts on ..

appreciate any help, thanks.

belts looks bad even the AC belt.

now to find a shop that can install an AC belt for me or anyone can confirm that Lisle 59370 will work? its available in my local oreilly's at $19?

There's a tool you can purchase to re-install the ac belt.

Replaced all my belts recently and ran into the same problem. The AC belt is pretty cheap $20, but the tool to replace costs $135. I could not see another way of installing the belt, so I bought the tool. Once you have the tool it takes just a few minutes to install the belt. I had to fight it a little to make sure it was aligned with the pulley but other than that it was a cinch.

Here is the link for the M57 engine. I have the diesel. It is a nicely made tool, machined out of a block of aluminium.

I don't think the Lisle tool works because the large pulley does not have a bolt to turn the engine, it has four small bolts instead. The KTC tool has a slot for a 1/2" drive rachet to be used to rotate the tool instead of the pulley. Nice design. Might be different for the gas engine, but you need to be able to turn the puley.
