LED halo upgrade with factory Zenon lamps

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I did search.

I have purchased some H8 LED bulbs and done the usual YouTube "how to" search and nothing matches up. Even the owners manual doesn't make sense.

I have an Australian delivered 09 E70 with factory Zenon driving lamps. I have been told that the halo rings are powered off the Zenon bulb (ie the outer most lamp) that has an adjustable shutter that directs the light in different directions.

Soooo...... Is it possible to get my halo rings white instead of yellow?

If so how?

Thanks in advance. Cheers

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
What did you search for? Try Corona rings, angel eyes, LED as terms

the inner lamps drive the halos. usually they're halogen, hence it's yellow-ish. the (outer) xenons are for dipped and full beam.

Guys thank you for your feedback. I do appriciate it, but have seen the vids etc.. and even my owners hand book concurs with what you are saying.

But my car is different from anything I can find online.

Check out my pics. They are both taken with the Day time running lights (halo, angel eye's) switched ON. As you can see the sorce of the light powering the halo's is coming from somewhere between the two.

This is the Zenon Low beam (outer lamp)

realoem lists h1, h7 & h8 for european headlight units.
RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog
maybe it's one of those?
