Whistle Any mod recommendations for my first 09' 4.8i? *2nd page UPDATED w/ pics*

Hello all! I recently purchased my first E70 for my wife and 2 week old baby girl (even though I drive it the most) and was curious if anyone can please recommend some good / tasteful mods to start off with for a newB? It's space grey by the way to give you an idea of what I'm working with. I already purchased a brand new set of 469m wheels and tires, had some custom coding done, as well as get the LUX H8 LED headlight bulb replacements. By the way, are rear fender flares absolutely necessary once I install the 20" 469m wheel & tire combo?

Unfortunately I'm not in the same position as some of the other members of this site in order to write blank checks and go crazy (just yet) due to having a newborn in our household. However, I've caught the mod bug and want to separate our E70 from the pack and make tasteful yet beneficial changes to it. This week I'm planning on purchasing from a fellow board member OEM rear flares, a sport steering wheel, as well as an entertainment / video system for the back seat passengers. I also really like the sound (from what I see and hear on YouTube clips) when E70 owners install an x-pipe while keeping the rest of the factory exhaust stock.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated from you pros out there that have built some incredible looking X5's!!!

No, the fender flares aren't necessary but I would do it for the OEM look. If you want them but don't want to pay much you can get a set of for for under $200 on eBay. As for the appearance mods you can do the aero kit if you like that look.

Arrow Thanks for the advice!

I appreciate your input uran_gashi and gregg3g! I'm just trying to make tasteful upgrades without breaking the bank. I've been looking into aero kits but I don't love anything that I've come across yet. Do u recommend a certain aero kit that fits well and isn't too wild? As far as the fender flares go, do you recommend that I do the front and back, or does it not really matter? Does anyone have experience with non OEM flares purchased off of eBay and their fitment compared to the OEM flares? I want the 09' to look as clean as possible and not have any sort of ghetto look to it. Thanks again for your insite considering that I'm new to this community!!! Have a great weekend!

As far as I know BMW only has one aero kit for the X5 and I understand you don't like that, your only other option for a body kit would be aftermarket ones but those are expensive. The fender flares are not necessary but if you want them I think the eBay one's should be fine.

I used 35% on front side windows and 50% on all back windows that were already tinted.

The main reason for the 50% was to color match and add UV protection.

I am considering doing 50% or alike for the windshield to totally disappear inside.
