Changing headlight/fog light bulbs on LCI, post-facelift E70

I have a 2011 35d and I want to change the headlight bulbs (D1S) and fog light bulbs (H11). I've read numerous threads concerning this but often the question is never fully answered or method confirmed. I found nothing on YouTube for the E70 facelift, LCI vehicles.

The best I can tell, the D1S Xenon low/high beam bulbs can be changed by removing the wheel/tire combo and wheel well liners. I also read that that may not work for diesel E70s, though, due to the DEF tank on the right side.

The only reference for the fog lights say that you remove the plastic grill beneath them but on my X5, the fog lights are more to the centerline of the vehicle and there is no grill below them. In that case, it seems that the entire bumper cover must be removed to get to the bulbs which seems insane.

So for a late model-year 2011 X5 xDrive35d (LCI, post-facelift), how do I gain access to and replace the D1S Xenon headlight and H11 fog light bulbs?

Idk about headlights but fog lights are easy.
Remove those grill coves carefully and reach in there and take the bulbs out. Very simple.
There is plenty of room in there, i had an HID kit in there for the fogs as well.

Maybe someone else would answer for the headlights. Good luck

Yeah, so stick a finder thru the grill on the right upper side and pull on it, it will pop out. Then grab the silver middle part and pull on it, you will see quickly how they attach. Just plastic clips on there. Do the same for other side.

Putting them back, insert the pointy side first then push it all in.

Still looking for any information about replacing the bi-Xenon bulb in the LCI LED E70.

The bi-Xenon bulb is the headlight bulb so . . . yes, how do you replace the headlight bulb? It's obvious from pictures how to get the bulb out of the headlight assembly. The real question is, how to get to the back of the headlight?

It is tight and you will just have to do it by feel but can be done without removing anything. One of my first mods was to swap out the headlight bulbs with Philips BlueVision Ultra 6K's and took less than 10 mins.

I have been trying to find a suitable HID bulb/ballast set for the fogs preferably 3k's. Any recommendations on decent quality brands since the market is flooded with knockoffs?
