Crash/Event data recovery via Rehingold

Asking the same question here: I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to retrieve event data from the car through Rheingold? I'm referring to accident related events that are stored in the car. I know this takes place whether or not airbag deploy, but I'm trying to figure out how to view them.

Yeah.

https://www.boschdiagnostics.com/cdr/

I am pretty sure you (or your insurer) will need to hire someone to pull it. Even if you could get a hacked copy of the cdr access software/hardware, just you handling the data may impact the interpretation/validity.

Edit: Not sure when BMWs began with a compliant EDR...seems 2013MY and newer?

They may have had something earlier, but not the bosch cdr...or so it seems

I guess my question is why are you interested in the data?

I know there are 3rd party "consultants" that do this for some manufacturers.

Sometimes you can understand parameters that are retrieved, however, there is often a LOT more Hex data that even the people capturing the data cannot decode. This is usually only at a manufacturers level that they can decode and display the extended parameters.
