What are you talking about? I bumped the thread to promote conversation. That's what a forum thrives on - conversation and discussion. You tried to make fun of me, I told you to calm yourself since you made yourself look like an idiot.

I'm the one trying to get this thread going again, so what's your problem? I never said or implied that I was against stickying this thread.

In period of time I've been a member (less than a month) I have over triple the post count you have. Come on, man.

i replied to this thread back in august by complimenting a post that revealed a feature i was unaware of (the point of this thread) and you quoted me >4 months later with an admonishment to "read the manual."

if you were trying to get this thread going again, why did you state "Sorry to revive an old thread - but hopefully this triggers some people to read the manual..."?

what does post count have to do with anything?

Again, I ask, what are you talking about?

I said that I hope people read the manual. Period. Given this thread's title is "Cool Hidden Features of the E70 many dont know about" when almost all of the stuff in here so far IS IN THE MANUAL, I want some "cool hidden" stuff.

I want to click a thread and read though 8 pages and find at least one or two things that are useful that I haven't already read in my manual.

Is this a pissing match that we don't even know what we're pissing over? You implied that people disagreed with me earlier....disagreed about what? You claim that 70+ replies to this thread "say otherwise" - otherwise to what?!

Just like every past BMW in the last........15 years or so, there's a hidden diagnostic menu. Displays a bunch of things like coolant temp, current displayed speed (speedometer intentionally optimistic), current actual speed, voltage, super-precise instant fuel consumption, fuel consumption per hour, the instrument panel test.........lots of things.

Example from our 3er (coolant temp)

This is what I'm talking about. Not that you can hold your unlock button and the windows roll down. I want some good hidden stuff. I remember doing this in my old 318 - so useless but also so cool once I got it to work.

For the record: I'm referring to the speedo. Coolant temperature is very useful.

i'd be happy to answer your question if you'll answer mine.

btw, no need to get emotional. i'll continue to be respectful and i'd appreciate the same from you. comments like "relax" and calling me an idiot are unnecessary.

how do you get to this hidden diagnostic menu? Do you mean just pressing in the button on the left lever?

Google is friendly: BC hidden menus - e90

You do need to be able to do addition though.
