New member; pics of new Black Sapphire with 214s

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new here. I lurked for a few years and just became an X5 owner recently, so I've been posting a bit lately. This forum is great but I always want more, so I figured I'd contribute!

Since everyone here loves pics, here are a few of my new X. I've had it since October but it only has 386 miles on it currently because it hasn't become my daily driver yet (it will soon).

Enjoy!

Nice truck!!!! Specs?

Was it a custom order? If so, how long did it take and where do you live?

Also, how did you change the grills?

Congrats. Use it well and drive it safely!!!

Thanks! Specs are in my sig...

I actually bought it off the lot, which isn't usually my style but I knew it hadn't been there very long. After a 2-day detail with multiple polishing steps to fix the dealer's prep work, it looks great.

I ordered the titanium kidney grilles from Morristown BMW (emailed them and paid via Paypal). They give great prices to members on here.

Sorry...missed the sig...I'm an idiot.

Before I changed my order to the 4.8 I looked into changing the 3.0 grills to Titanium. My CA told me it was a major project and would require me ordering an entire new bumper.

Is this incorrect?

Yes, that's incorrect. Changing the kidney grilles only takes a few minutes with no tools required. You just open your hood, pop the old grilles out and pop the new ones in.

If you're talking about changing the lower grilles (because maybe you didn't plan on ordering the sport package), I'm not sure because I didn't need to do it. But I believe I've seen some other posts on the forum stating that it's also possible to swap those. It may be a little more involved but it definitely doesn't involve replacing the bumper!

Beautiful car!!! I just got 214s replicas, we'll see how they perform. If they turn to be a pain, I will buy a set from Ameritrades!

Thanks! I barely missed a set from Ameritrades in early December and VERY luckily found another set of brand new take-offs locally last week. Ameritrades comes across some nice sets though!

I hope the replicas work out for you...I was considering going that route.

Looks great; however you need to get that thing on the road. I bet I put 386 miles on mine the first night.

Thanks for the pictures.

Go STEELERS!
